There are two main reasons you may need an inspection of your electrical system:
Just like any medical check up, you can be apprehensive of the unknown. We are here to remove that stress. With a Shock Doctors electrical inspection you will have a clear picture of the health of your whole electrical system – head to toe.
Your home’s wiring must be done according to the Electrical Safety Code – which is a clear set of rules, not guidelines. It directs how electrical work must be performed in Ontario. This code ensures that your home’s wiring is safe to use, safe for visitors and is not at risk for electrical fire. The older your home, the higher the probability that wiring has been added after it was originally wired. Many times, these wiring additions have not been done safely or professionally.
We Offer two Inspection Options:
Our 12-point safety inspection provides you with a visual review of your incoming service, panel inspection and thermal scan, GFCI and arc fault checks, grounding and bonding check, tension testing of receptacles and smoke & CO detector assessment. You can expect this service to take one to two hours and will include sitting down at the end with your electrician so he can explain the findings.
If you already have serious concerns about the electrical safety of your home, or one that you are buying, you would be better served with our more comprehensive wiring inspections for $396. Your master electrician will inspect and test your home’s wiring top to bottom, making notes and capturing digital photos of any defects. Before leaving, he will make second appointment time to meet with you again. When he returns he will have prepared a full photo report, showing and explaining any ESA Code defects and safety concerns.
Whether you are new to your home, or have lived there for years, a full electrical wiring inspection gives you a clear report of the overall health of your electrical system.
The Shock Doctors are specialists in residential wiring inspections and are associate members of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
